BioFormula 85 – an alternative fuel made from bioethanol (known as E85)
BrüggemannAlcohol markets its product BioFormula 85 nationally. It is one of the few active suppliers of the so-called alternative E85 fuel for FFV motors in Germany. In close collaboration with Saab dealers, Ford dealers and various Ford works BrüggemannAlcohol is intensively working on the market introduction of this fuel. BioFormula 85 is an alternative first generation fuel.
BioFormula 85 is a quality fuel mixture and is suitable for operating flexible-fuel vehicles (FFV). E85 has a bioethanol fraction of 85% to which 15% petrol (gasoline) is mixed. Flexible fuel vehicles are equipped with a specially tuned motor control system. So that FFVs can be driven either with bioethanol fuel E85 or normal petrol/gasoline.
Agricultural products from within the EU form the basis of our bioethanol.
Bioethanol for E5 and ETBE
The European standard EN DIN 228 permits blending of up to 5% bioethanol with petrol. Fuel mixture E5 can be used by petrol motors without any problem. In the EU, E5 fuel mixtures are becoming increasingly more important, not least because of the need to implement contents of the Kyoto environmental protocol.
Bioethanol is used as a raw material for the synthesis of ETBE. ETBE (ethyl tertiary butyl ether) is an octane improver based on ethanol.
BrüggemannAlcohol supplies bioethanol for mixing with petrol/gasoline (E5) and for the synthesis of ETBE.
Delivery using tankers and 1000 l IBC containers, in accordance with the currently valid transport and storage regulations, can only be made to commercial customers (e. g. petrol stations, mineral oil dealers, car dealerships, etc.)
