Ethanol can be mixed with many other organic solvents and can be mixed without limit with water. Many synonyms are used for ethanol such as: Spirits of wine, brandy, spirits and ethyl alcohol.
What is bioalcohol/ bioethanol?-
The term bioethanol/bioalcohol is a frequently used synonym for various product and qualities. The multitude of names can lead to a false interpretation and mistakes can cause serious consequences. Therefore, it is important to precisely distinguish the exact application. The following relevant information must be observed:
Ethanol is produced from plant material such as cereals or molasses. The technical term in this case is agricultural alcohol. The quality, application and concentration of alcohol can not be derived from this designation.
Ethanol for use as a fuel additive in Bioformula85 (E85) or as an admixture for ETBE synthesis. In this case the name bioethanol is used. It is an alcohol obtained from plants, which is must and can only be used as a fuel.
Ethanol for lighting as a fuel in so-called decorative fireplaces. In this case BrüggemannAlcohol uses high purity alcohol of 96% quality that contains a specially approved denaturing agent for the final consumer.
Ethanol produced from plants coming from controlled biological cultivation. These qualities are only allowed to be sold by specialist companies having an environmental certification. The entire supply chain must comply with the auditor’s most stringent specifications including the cereal grower. BrüggemannAlcohol has been granted the necessary official approvals. What is denaturing?-
Denaturing of alcohol means that the ethanol is made unfit to drink or unpalatable. It is no longer enjoyable to drink once it has been treated. In this process substances are added which make it no longer fit for human consumption. The choice of denaturing agent depends upon the final application of the alcohol.
