NYRIM®-Production

In RIM-processing liquids with low and high viscosities are processed under low pressure by a mixing head. The polymerisation starts after filling the mould. Through good homogenisation finished parts free of stress and warpage can be produced. The RIM-process is ideal for large, complex and/or thick-walled parts und offers a big degree of freedom in designing. As it is processed only marginally above atmospheric pressure, it results in low mould and production costs.

Advantages

  • Capability to produce very large parts with uncritical flow path (Weight from 200 grams to 6 tons)
  • Large thickness gradients are possible without problems (> 3/1)
  • Small and medium series can be processed economically (form 100 to 40.000 parts)
  • Low mould costs (aluminium)
  • Glass fiber reinforement or particulate mineral fillers can be used
  • Polymerization around a (metal) insert or through glass mats is possible
  • Lost core technology available
  • Multi cavity tooling with different part geometry per mould is possible
