AP-Nylon® Caprolactam for Anionic Polymerisation

The anionic polymerisation of epsilon-caprolactam is already inhibited by small amounts of moisture. Therefore moisture-free raw materials must be used and any production must run under exclusion of moisture influences. AP-NYLON^® Caprolactam is utilized as raw material for anionic polymerisation to polyamide 6 as the moisture content compared to standard caprolactam is drastically reduced.

To prevent any pick-up of moisture and agglomeration during storage and transport AP-Nylon^® Caprolactam liquid is stored and transported under nitrogen and AP-Nylon^® Caprolactam solid is packed in flaked product form in aluminium-claded, moisture-proof bags.
