Technology and processes
BrüggemannAlcohol cleans/refines crude alcohol, which is obtained from the fermentation of renewable resources. These are raw materials that naturally contain sugar e.g. sugar beet, fruit etc. This sugar can be converted directly into alcohol (ethanol) by adding yeast. Another source of raw materials are plants that contain starch, e.g. all types of cereals, maize, potatoes, etc. In this case it is necessary to breakdown the starch using enzymes before fermentation. The mash that is produced contains sugar, which can then be fermented in to alcohol.
At BrüggemannAlcohol the cleaning/refining of crude alcohol is carried out in several plants.
